Work will be out of both the Corinth and Schenectady dental clinics so travel will be required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Medical Director, functions as the general dental practitioner and also administers the Capital District dental program. Specifically performs the following tasks:
o Administrative activities are characterized by responsibility for performing employee supervision. o Performing the full range of professional dental tasks in connection with restoring and maintaining dental health. o Coordinates dental services with other clinical specialists, trains staff, prepares purchase requests, and orders and maintains dental equipment and supplies. o Performs full range of professional dental tasks in connection with the diagnosis and treatment of dental diseases, injuries and malfunctions of teeth and gums. o Works in concert with patient's care team for sedation needs and care. o Examination of patient's teeth and surrounding oral structures utilizing x-rays, mouth mirrors and other diagnostic procedures and instruments to determine pathological or irregular conditions. o Performs restoration of simple and compound cavities using evidence-based practices. o Works collaboratively with physician to administer local anesthetics. o Performs oral surgery commensurate with professional qualifications. o Performs single and multiple extractions of teeth as determined clinically necessary. o Cleans teeth by scaling calculus. o Treats tooth, mouth and gum infections with appropriate medications or surgically. o Maintains electronic records of patient's dental treatments. o Takes mouth impressions and bite registrations for crowns, jackets, dentures and bridges, tries temporary setups and fits/ inserts the finished appliances. o Arranges in service training for dental staff. o Follows OPWDD policies and procedures and regulations. o Advises individuals about dental practices. o Other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Qualifications:
o Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. o Current licensure in NYS Enteral Sedation.

Salary Range:
From $111803 to $136516 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Possession of a license and current registration to practice dentistry in New York State.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
